Simulators

These are stand-alone applications and do not require internet access.

They can be installed on local machines and will run on any PC's running Windows 10 or 11,  with 32 and 64 bit architectures. Not Mac compatible.

The simulator's HELP sections have 'how to' videos and some basic theory that underpins the technique.

  • UV/Vis Spectrophotometer Simulator

This spectrophotometer faithfully reflects the use of a standard single beam instrument.

Selections can be made for :

    • Analyte from the library
    • Cuvette material (Quartz/Glass/Plastic)
    • Cuvette size (10mm, 5mm, 2mm)

and the simulator takes these into account.

    Readings  can be made for:

    • Single wavelength
    • Multi wavelength
    • Wavelength scan
    • Automated calibration of known standards  concentrations to find the concentration of an unknown solution.

There is a library of analytes to choose from:

1-Chlorobenzene, Acetaldehyde, Acetone, Acetonitrile, Anthracene, Butanal, Chromium Nitrate, Cobalt Nitrate, Copper Sulfate, Copper Sulfate (in MeOH), Cyclohexane, Cyclohexanone, Mix of Cr and Co Nitrate, Naphthalene, Pentacene, Phenol, Pyridine, Quinine, Resorcinol, Salicylic Acid, Styrene, Toluene

  • Infra-Red Spectrophotometer Simulator

This programme is currently in development.

  • Fluorescence Spectrophotometer Simulator

This programme will be in development soon.
